The Administrative Building at 4 Vestal Street is open 9am-5pm, weekdays. All facilities are closed on federal holidays.
The Discovery Playground at Hinsdale Park is open year-round and closes at dark.

Admission to the Loines Observatory programming is discounted 20%.

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance and the Department of Public Health’s WIC Nutrition Program, along with hundreds of cultural organizations, working together to make cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.
The MMA believes that curiosity and discovery should be accessible to everyone. Massachusetts EBT and WIC cardholders receive free general admission for the cardholder and up to three accompanying guests to the Maria Mitchell Aquarium, Natural Science Museum, and Historic Mitchell House. Please present your eligible card upon arrival. This benefit is not valid for fundraising events, private events, or separately ticketed special programs.
