WINTER I AFTER-SCHOOL SERIES
Grades K - 5 | January 13 - February 19, 2026
Join the Maria Mitchell Association this winter for our Winter I After-School Series, designed for students in Grades K–5. Each day of the week offers a unique set of nature-based activities, crafts, and adventures as we explore Nantucket Island together!
This day-specific program includes transportation from local schools:
- Nantucket Elementary School & Intermediate School – pickup at 2:30 PM
- Nantucket Lighthouse School – pickup at 2:50 PM
- Nantucket New School – pickup at 3:00 PM
With parent/guardian permission, participants will be transported to the Hinchman House Natural Science Museum or an off-site field location. While school may be out, the curiosity continues!
Pick-up is at 5:00 PM sharp at the Natural Science Museum, 7 Milk Street.

Tuesdays - 6 Week Series
Jan. 13, 20, 27; Feb 3, 10, 17
Wednesdays - 4 Week Series
Jan. 14*, 21, 28; Feb 4, Feb 11*
*Wednesday, Jan. 14 & Feb. 11 are NPS Early Release Days. REGISTER under NPS Early Release Days Option
Thursdays - 6 Week Series
Jan. 15, 22, 29; Feb. 5, 12, 19
$400 per participant for the full
6-week series or
$25 per individual session
MMA Members receive a 20% discount when signed into their account.

You must have an active membership at the time of purchase, and be SIGNED IN to receive the 20%-membership discount. If you need to join or renew, please purchase your membership first. You must be logged into your account to receive the discount. If you pay without the discount showing, or are requesting other discounts, please do so prior to registering for the program. We cannot guarantee retro-active discounts.
The Medical Release & Pick Up Permission Form is now filled out after the registration process through our CampDoc, electronic health records system.
Before registering make sure you have:
- Phone number for your child’s doctor
- Health insurance details
- Emergency contacts and phone numbers
- Names and contact info for people on your child’s pick-up list
- Medication details if applicable
You will be notified of the required physical and immunization records during the registration process and will receive these details prior to beginning the program.
