MMA Visiting Scientist, Caroline Collatos

The MMA offered special Shark Week inspired events throughout the week of July 25th with visiting scientist, Caroline Collatos. Collatos is a shark scientist and PhD student at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium and UMass Boston. Izzy Gaw our Natural Science Museum Director was "excited to share Caroline’s shark education expertise with Nantucket.”  Sold out events included: A Shark Work-Up that demonstrated Collatos' tagging procedure, a Shark Dissection highlighting the biology of sharks, a Question and Answer Session and even a Shark-themed nature story hour for our smaller scientists.
