August Muller holds a B.S. in physics from Haverford College. Her Bachelor's thesis investigated techniques for detecting extreme mass-ratio inspiral gravitational wave signals for the upcoming LISA gravitational wave detector. During her year on Nantucket, August is excited to learn more about observational astronomy as she investigates the host galaxies of fast radio bursts. August is passionate about science communication and advocacy for underrepresented groups, and is excited to pursue these goals alongside her research at the Association. Outside of work, she is looking forward to spending time on the beach, reading, and painting. After her Fellowship, August plans to continue her research career by pursuing a PhD in astrophysics.
