MMO Research Fellow

508.228.9198

Emmy Wisz is a recent graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in Astronomy and Physics. Her undergraduate research focused on galaxy formation and evolution, studying the impacts of morphology on radial metallicity gradients. She is excited to continue to be involved in the field of galaxy evolution, researching damped Lyman-ɑ (DLA) systems to expand on her understanding of the formation of galaxies over time. She is inspired by the MMA’s commitment to supporting underrepresented groups in STEM and is looking forward to being a part of that mission. This year she hopes to explore all that the island has to offer and visit the beach as much as she can. Her plans following her year at MMO include pursuing a PhD in Astrophysics.
