The Maria Mitchell Association’s Science Lecture Series holds approximately twelve science lectures between May and October. Thank you to the sponsors who make the this lecture series possible.

Thank you to the sponsors that are helping the Maria Mitchell Association reach its final goal to finance the Research Center. Already generous donors have helped and thanks to them, the work has already begun. The Research Center will occupy the space of the former Maria Mitchell Association Science Library.
Exterior work is complete and now the interior renovations are underway. When complete, the space will provide year-round, indoor classroom space with state-of-the-art equipment to make science come alive. Additionally, the space will become the permanent home of the vast collections of the flora and fauna of Nantucket. The collections cover more than a century’s worth of specimens. In the new space, scientists, island students, and others will have better access to the collections.
The Maria Mitchell Association is grateful to the many individual donors and volunteers who have made our work possible. Our supporters hail from Nantucket, New England, the United States, and around the globe. Their gifts provide the means to continue our scientific research, education, and historic preservation. The MMA is a private non-profit organization and relies on donations of time, talent, and treasure from generous private citizens. Please join us in thanking our members, donors, and volunteers.
