Director of Advancement
Logan Gomes rejoins the Maria Mitchell Association after first working for the organization in 2003. A results-driven professional with over a decade of experience in fundraising, communications and non-profit development, Logan most recently served as the Director of Advancement for Nantucket Lighthouse School from 2013-2019. While there, Logan oversaw donor relations, major gifts, sponsorship giving, special events, grants, and the school’s annual and capital giving programs. Working with donors and foundations, she helped establish the school’s Horticulture Program, giving students access to weekly horticulture classes in a new Educational Garden and Greenhouse, and she helped formalize the school’s Educational Speaker Series, bringing nationally acclaimed speakers to the island for free community talks on timely topics in education.
Prior to working at NLS, Logan was the Director of Membership at The Westmoor Club where she oversaw membership sales and communications.
Interests and Accomplishments:
Logan has a Bachelor’s Degree from Colgate University in Art / Art History.
She has lived on Nantucket since 2003. Her family includes her husband, two sons and English Springer Spaniel pup, Quincy. When not working, Logan enjoys gardening, yoga and watching her sons (ages 7 and 9) play sports. She is excited to rejoin the MMA team and help advance the Association’s strategic plan and vision.
From 2013-2019, Logan served on the Nantucket License Plate committee, instrumental to the efforts to establish the Island’s specialty plate program. Since then, the program has generated over $800,000 for Nantucket non-profits serving children. She now volunteers at Nantucket Intermediate School and at NISHA with her youngest son.
